Water Balloons and Gravity at Landa

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Today, Landa Teens filled balloons with water, and then proceeded to drop them from the high and very elevated terrace.  We measured the diameter of the balloon, and then measured the diameter of the center of impact.  All of the balloons popped on impact the first time, except for one, which had to be dropped a second time.  Hannah’s balloon had a diameter of 4 inches, followed by a diameter of impact of 2 feet, 9 inches.  4 inches was the diameter of Lola’s balloon, which had a distance of 2 feet across.  Flora’s balloon had a diameter of 4 inches, followed by a diameter of impact of 1 foot.  My balloon didn’t burst the first time it was dropped, but it’s diameter was a little over 4 inches, and the diameter of the imapct center was 2 feet, 3 inches.  We had a wonderful time dropping the balloons from great heights!
