Teen review: “A Wrinkle In Time” by Madeleine L’Engle

The classic novel, “A Wrinkle In Time,” is a fascinating and thrilling tale centering around Meg Murry and her odd family. Her father disappeared years ago, but it wasn’t until her 5-year-old brother, Charles Wallace, who is unnaturally mature for his age, befriends three elderly women living in a house close to theirs, does the mystery of where their father disappeared to start to unravel. Mrs. Who, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Which transport Meg, Charles Wallace and a classmate of Meg’s named Calvin, using the phenomenon of a tesseract or a wrinkling through time and space. The children must defeat an evil presence that is threatening the universe in order to free their father, who is in its clutches. Even thought the book was first published in 1962, it remains a thrilling page turner with lots of interesting concepts. Aedan, Central TLLC, 15
