Teen review: “My Fair Godmother” by Janette Rallison

“My Fair Godmother” twists all the classic fairy tales into one messed up place that Savannah gets sent to after her boyfriend dumps her for her older sister. Not only is that bad enough, but soon Savannah learns that she has a fairy godmother, Chrysanthemum (Chrissy). Scratch that. She has a fair godmother who isn’t good enough to be a fairy godmother. Chrissy, in an attempt to get a good grade in fairy godmother school, tries to fix the messed-up life of Savannah, but she ends up making it worse. This book is not only clever, but it has multiple scenes that will have you laughing hysterically. Janette Rallison has written many teen books, but this is my favorite. If you are like me and enjoy this book, you may want to check out the next in the series, “My Unfair Godmother,” or any of her countless books.
