Cooking with Thousand Oaks Teens

Thousand Oaks Teens made some yummy fall apple crisp in the microwave.  Here’s how we did it:

First, we peeled apples and cut them into bite-sized pieces, and sprinkled them with cinnamon sugar.

Next, we mixed up some streusel, which is a crumbly topping made of butter, sugar, cinnamon, oatmeal, and flour:

Then we layered the apples and streusel in a coffee mug:

Then we cooked it in the microwave for a couple of minutes.

The apples shrink a lot when they’re cooked.  If you wait a few minutes for it to cool off, the topping gets all crispy.  Time to eat!
