Teen Review: “Ruined” by Paula Morris

Rebecca, finding herself in New Orleans living with her strange, tarot card-reading aunt and going to an obnoxious rich-kid school, can’t seem to find a friend…at least not until she sneaks into the Lafayette Cemetery to chase after the beautiful Anton Grey. Lisette, a ghost stuck haunting the cemetery, becomes the close companion of lonely Rebecca and is more than happy to show her around. After a while, though, things start to go wrong. Rebecca discovers how Lisette tragically died and the curse put upon those who did her harm. Subsequently, everything spirals out of control into a completely unexpected, twist ending. This book is a perfect blend of mystery, intrigue and general creepiness.
