Teen Review: “Timeline” by Michel Crichton

“Timeline” by Michel Crichton, the author of “Jurassic Park,” takes you back into the Middle Ages. A group of historians is working on a site in France restoring ruins. After awhile, they become suspicious of the company, ITC, that is funding them. When their professor goes missing, Kate, Marek, and Chris find themselves traveling to the mysterious company and then discovering that Professor Johnston has accidentally been lost back in time. They must travel back to 14th century France to find him. Using quantum technology, the group lands at the place that they have been restoring to find a harsh world. They have 37 hours to find the professor and get back. Right off the bat, things go wrong and both of their guides are killed, leaving them alone and chased by angry horsemen. Can the group handle all their trials and get home safely, or will they be stuck in the past forever?

  1. I love the movie (especially Marek), but I’ve been told it’s really just the highlights. I need to read the book some time.
