This Wednesday, we gathered at Landa Library to watch the second part of the newest Alice in Wonderland movie. This edition included some of my favorites: Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, and Helena Bonham Carter, not to mention it was directed by Tim Burton! Needless to say, it was fantastic. The special effects were outstanding, the characters were kooky, and tons of out-of-the-box ideas were bursting from the movie. It was my favorite version of ALice in Wonderland, partly because of the more detailed plot that was introduced, partly because of the many references to Lewis Caroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and partly because of the ending. Alice doesn’t wake up, it’s not all a dream; she’s not been sleeping.

The time period from the beginning, plus the crazy style and makeup in Wonderland create a perfect balance. There is so much symbolism in this movie, so many themes, and so much entertainment, it is impossible to watch it without getting something from it.
While we were watching this interesting movie, we were also making magnets out of sequins, shiny things, feathers, and puzzle pieces! Some decided to focus on solving the jigsaw puzzle (which had around 50 pieces) and others hot glued random things together, making them very appealing to the eye. It was a fun Wednesday, we watched Alice in Wonderland (and the extras), made magnets, and talked about movies.
