Cleaopatra’s Daughter, by Michelle Moran

Cleaopatra's Daughter, by Michelle Moran

This book is well-written with a likable main character, a truly incredible young woman that history seems to have forgotten: Kleopatra Selene, the only daughter of Queen Kleopatra and Mark Antony. After her parents’ deaths she’s forced to move to Rome along with her two brothers, and is immediately immersed in the insanity of Roman culture and politics. An enormous slave rebellion has started, led by the Red Eagle. Her story is a relatively unknown one, and the author creates an incredible book, with interesting characters and she never ignores the nitty-grittiness of Roman society.
