Teen Review: “The Lost Island of Tamarind” by Nadia Aguiar

Maya, Simon and Penny find themselves on an adventure when their parents go overboard their ship and the children find themselves stranded on the mysterious Island of Tamarind. All Maya, the oldest, wants is a real life instead of the one on their family boat with their marine biologist parents, but first she must get off the island. The problem is that no one ever has before. While searching for their parents, the children find themselves faced with many dangers. Amidst an island filled with magical creatures, the siblings find a friend of sorts named Helix who has been on the island his whole life. So with a little help and more than a little amount of cleverness, the siblings may just have a chance. I enjoyed this novel because the author paints the most beautiful pictures with her words.
