Landa Cool Teens Talk Radio Post: What Are The Songs Of My Generation?

The Evolution of Music:

As 2013 comes to a close, the Landa Listeners have created their Top 5 Music Breakouts of 2013. Counting down, our Top 5 Music Breakout was the song of the summer, “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke. It was also our voted most overplayed song of 2013. “Blurred Lines” broke out with a bang and quickly took the billboard charts by storm, but it lost speed and popularity after Thicke’s  outrageous rendition with the ever-twerking Miley Cyrus.

Our Top 4 Music Breakout of 2013 has actually been happening for a while. Although Paul Revere could not be here, no one wanted a warning when the Third British Invasion crashed on American shores. Boy band “One Direction” has taken over America’s heart with their charming British looks and pop music. British Bands have crash landed in America before with the revolutionary tunes of the Beatles in the 60’s, which brings us to our Top 3 Music Breakout.  It seems that time does not have any effect on the hottest bands of yesteryear including The Beatles, ACDC, Pink Floyd, and Queen.

The present generations are more accepting of “Oldie But Goodie” music and many have seen these classic tunes reprised by new artists. Our Top 2 Music Breakout is the technology which brings music to the masses.  Stations and apps like Pandora, Spotify, and iTunes Radio have been helping spreading for year, but now new artists can breakout new music to other target audiences. Curious minds can been soothed from just creating a new station on Pandora, and more artists are experiencing main stream fame.

These apps and stations are also helping artists reclaim their fame which brings us to our Top 1 Music Breakout of 2013. Yes, she broke out onto the billboard charts like a “Wrecking Ball” Miley Cyrus has revived her image. She prances around in racy outfits and has traded her famous Hannah Montana blonde locks for a short platinum pixie cut. Cyrus broke out in 2013 with back to back summer smash hits, “We Can’t Stop” and “Wrecking Ball”. Cyrus continues to takeover music charts all over the world and has begun to sell out her much anticipated 2014 music tour, “Bangerz”.

All our 2013 Music Breakouts have been wonderful and we cannot wait for the surprises 2014 holds for us.
