Teen Review: “Scarlet” by Marissa Meyer

Cinder, a prisoner of the Lunar Queen Levana, just found out about her hidden identity. She must use the help of a fellow prisoner in escaping in his stolen cargo ship. Scarlet, who is countries away from Cinder, is in search of her grandmother who was kidnapped. The people holding her hostage are not at all friendly and will stop at nothing to find whatever Scarlet’s grandmother is hiding. What that is, Scarlet has no idea. With the help of Wolf, a street fighter who has intel on the group that kidnapped her grandmother, Scarlet heads off toward danger. Cinder heads off in the direction of Scarlet’s grandmother, as well, for information. All the while, Cinder’s prison break is causing Emperor Kai and the Commonwealth a great deal of trouble. Queen Levana will stop at nothing to rule both the Moon and our Earth. Is there anyone strong enough to stop her?
