Teen Review: “Dream Life” by Lauren Mechling

Returning to school for her second semester at Hudson High, Claire Voyante finds that after the excitement of the previous semester, this one is more than a little bit boring. On top of that, Becca reconnects with friends from her old school over the Christmas holiday and now never seems to have any time for Claire. Luckily, Claire isn’t stuck feeling abandoned for too long. Becca, it turns out, is part of a secret society for well-to-do girls called the Moons. This club has been passed down for generations with the intention of using some of their exorbitant wealth to help out the city. The Moons are persuaded by Becca to allow in some new members, including Claire. Though the Moon’s don’t know it, letting in Claire may actually be one of their best decisions. With Claire’s clairvoyant powers, she may be their only hope of stopping people from taking advantage of the city they love so much. This second and final book was just as good as the first one.
