Teen Review: “The Blood of Olympus” by Rick Riordan

In this final book in the series “The Heroes of Olympus,” the chapters are from the perspectives of Jason,  Piper, and Leo, who are aboard the Argo II; and Reyna and Nico, who are shadow jumping across the world with the Athena Parthenos. The longer they shadow travel, the less substantial Nico becomes, but it is crucial they make it to Camp Half-Blood in time to stop the fighting between the Greeks and the Romans. The longer they take, the worse Octavian makes the situation. On the Argo, the seven are making their way to Athens and imminent doom, if they cannot manage to defeat Gaea and her giants. This last book, though it did not have any chapters from Percy or Annabeth, sigh, was actually a satisfying ending to this series. I was afraid the ending would make me sad, but, thankfully, those expectations were not met.
