Teen Review: Fangirl” by Rainbow Rowell
Cath and her twin sister Wren have been doing everything together since they were born, including fangirling over Simon Snow, the character in a book series. When Cath and Wren finally head out for college, Wren breaks away and decides to separate herself from her sister to lead her own life, leaving Cath alone for the first time in forever. Cath gets roomed with a girl Regan who seems to always have her boyfriend around, she’s got a professor who thinks ‘fan fiction’ is ruining the civilized world, and she’s constantly worrying about her dad who’s never really be alone before. Cath has never been this far out of her comfort zone and the only question she has is: can she do it? Fangirl is a fun and hilarious read that is filled with relatable moments. It captures a lot of teen angst and realizations that a lot of us have.
