Landa Library’s teens were on fire again this week as we prepared for this summer’s Read-A-Thon.  Since each participant of the program receives a free button, we tackled the task at hand.  Though our button making kit included all of the necessary parts and instructions, we just couldn’t seem to get it right.  Each rearrangement of the button’s circles only gave way to more laughs as our poor button frame just kept falling out.  It wasn’t until Ms. Canales had a burst of inspiration and created yet another random arrangement that forced the button to fit into its frame.  The deed was done.  After we finally figured out how to make the buttons, we started creating labels for the different reading levels. We decided to decorate the labels based on the Greek alphabet with a special surprise for the top level. Participants of the Read-A-Thon can work their way through the levels by reading and attending events put on by the wonderful Landa Library teens.  Stay posted for more news this summer at Landa Library.
