It’s time to d-d-d-d-DDDUEL!
The members of the Encino Branch Library’s Teen Anime Club showed their competitive sides during our newest edition of the club: Trivia Night!
See more photos and videos here:
Our Trivia Night consisted of 2 teams competing through 4 different rounds: Memory?, Jeopardy!, Guess That Anime Opening!, and Who’s That Pokémon?. The Mondopad served as our lovely trivia display and we used a buzzer app on our iPads to keep team scores.
Here’s how Team NaLu and Team Jeo Pardy played each round:
- ROUND 1: MEMORY?
Teams send one member to the front of the room. A sequence of anime characters will be displayed on the screen; the team member must quickly memorize the sequence, turn around to recreate the sequence using laminated cutouts on the table in front of them, and then hit the buzzer. The catch?! Once a team member turns around, they cannot look back at the screen!
- ROUND 2: JEOPARDY!
Teams compete in a group round of anime-themed Jeopardy!. The Mondopad was really awesome for this round because of its touchscreen capabilities!
- ROUND 3: GUESS THAT ANIME OPENING!
Teams must correctly identify the opening song with its matching anime intro. The catch this time? It’s only music and no visuals!
- …oops. For this round, we forgot to take pictures and videos! But here’s a video clip from when we previously played Guess That Anime Opening!:
- ROUND 4: WHO’S THAT POKÉMON?
Using Kahoot, teams are shown a blocked photo of a Pokémon. As the images becomes clear, teams race to correctly guess the Pokémon’s name first!
The end result of this was a 2-hour madhouse of anime-infused trivia FUN! After everything was over, Team NaLu emerged as the champions and walked away with some delicious goodies to help them celebrate!
