The Diary of a Young Girl
The Diary of a Young Girl, if you didn’t know already is about a 13-year-old girl from Germany named Anne Frank. On her 13th birthday she received a journal that would then become a part of Holocaust history. At the young age of 13, writing in the diary is how she spent the rest of her years hiding from the Nazis (along with her mother, father, and sister), in her father’s business office, which eventually became the Secret Annex. From time to time more people joined in on hiding with the Franks. Throughout her journey, writing to Kitty in a journal given to her by her mother she writes not only about herself, but about everyone else that was in hiding. One day she wrote about everyone else’s dreams, how all they wanted was either taking a real bath to just walking down the street and not worrying about being caught. Anne writes about how much it saddened her to not be able to do the things a regular teenage girl would do. When reading this book i learned to be grateful for what I have and cherish moments in life because even when you’re young, life can be cut short at any time.
